Richard Eberhardy, DVM
Dr. Eberhardy is a 1993 graduate of Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and has been a part of Johnson County Animal Clinic since 1998. Dr. Eberhardy was born and raised in the Kansas City area, married his high school sweetheart and is the proud father of two awesome daughters. To his delight, Dr. Eberhardy’s entire family unit can all proudly claim KSU as their alma mater. Outside of the field of veterinary medicine, Dr. Eberhardy has dedicated time to the field of “oenology” – the study and knowledge of wine. Over the past few years, he has added two additional post-nominals to his name that follow “DVM”. He earned the CSW (Certified Specialist of Wine) certification in 2021 and the FSW (French Wine Scholar) in 2023.
Additional time outside of the clinic, Dr. Eberhardy spends time doing yoga, exercise, spending time with family, tending to his numerous plants in the home, enjoys time outside and is attempting to learn a second language. He and his wife share their home with two senior cats – Pete and Tilley, who are pretty much inseparable, spending much of their time snoozing or watching all the bird activity that has been set up at the house for everyone’s entertainment value- humans and felines alike.
Dr. Eberhardy is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas Veterinary Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.
